Alone Day 05 - Thunder, the cat

I take one week to update and this is what i come up with? a messed up inked cat with bad composition. TT_TT;;

i chose the most difficult fur colour for this comic. BLACK. usually it should be a lump of black fur with just the eyes sparkling and the rest are just jet black. this is the easiest way to cheat on drawing the cat when they are not the focus. (day 01-03). I didn't want the cat to look less animated. She also has a personality. Although its harder to see when everything is black. so today's panel is especially for her GUILTY look. took me ages to get it rite.. or i didnt? i spent a few days studying cats, their eyes, their pose, their anatomy.. and look at this? i minimised all other details. but next week's update is going to be on Han's strange friend.
then another last day of the week post. we will be off with lesson 1~!

typo errors are evident. but i can't really edit my stuffs. pending and i need help.

Alone Day 04 - My Alien Sister

Sometimes we feel like we are closer to our friends than our own siblings. Just have no good reason to know about each other. So what if we have blood relation, the less we get into each others' nerves the better we can cohabit in the same space.
Here's Hans' younger sister, we will get to know more about her later. For now, when siblings don't fight, what else are they capable of doing together?

my updates are getting very random. I try to update 2 per week. Will try my best.

Alone - Day 03 , Here comes Papa

I ran out of space trying to describe Han's dad. He is definitely a question mark. Whether or not his dad is into stock or WWF, we will see if Hans can bust those myths ^^;;. it was fun drawing the mini. i had to get a few reference. btw, they have another car, just this antique gets more focus for now.

Alone Day 02

u will get to meet the rest of the family members in the coming days.
For now meet MOM. Very crucial character in everyone's life. You cannot be born without a mother. So how's following rule no 5 from 10 commandments coming along? Most mothers only want the best for their children. Just that, we come from different generation, and we might feel somehow that mom's advice does not equal our peers'.

will have amendments once i got it proof read ^^. but im putting it up first!
hans mom is a fun character to draw.

Hi friends,

This blog is going to be turned into my web comic dumpster.
I will be updating as frequent as I can, the moment I find time to doodle and put in inspirational thoughts to strokes. Here's a humble beginning of how I'm going to update on bible stories as well as relating them back to our current world today. Most are based on my own personal experience. So there may be bias thoughts or something random that only I can relate to. Please read with extra caution. Ultimately, u have to compare back to the God's word. I'm open for comments & critiques but I will not entertain theological debates.

Alone - Day 01

This is probably non-biblical as every story needs to start with a introduction. I will try to get to the main part after a week (7 days) of intro is done. So bear with me.

After :: Book :: Thoughts
Facing your Giants by Max Lucado

A great epic of a nobody, who was somebody in the eyes of God, who's story begins in 1 Samuel 16 and till the final moments in the beginning of 1 Kings. Suddenly the recipe in making a warrior out of a "boy" that struck down a 9 foot tall giant, Goliath, had all the main ingredients listed in this book. If we were to read David's journey with our spiritual eyes, one would have only thought what God did was just merely empowered David's muscles and the stone to give the final blow. But actually, God was in every bit of David's life as long as God remained his king. The chapters slowly forwards to our time, here and now. To draw insights and learn from David's experiences and faith. We get overwhelmed so easily by our everyday struggles, they become the incredible giants we fail to overcome. Tried looking for answers and solutions and remedies to change in social circles? death of loved one? illnesses? heartaches? fears? Ever wonder why God had you placed in such situations? Getting paranoid. Getting frustrated and then feeling alone and depressed about life. David looked not for his inner strength, but he set his eyes on the one who was greater and mightier than Goliath. Thinking you are not really quite cut out for big challenges? Gave up too early for the fight and chose to run away? At the verge of renouncing your faith? Of having second thoughts about God that controls the universe? You will want to read this book.

So what 's this about Christ's (Christian's) Love that's so different from others?

Some find it extremely easy to define love, you can feel it in the air. (that's when some slow swing music tickles one's ear)
Some, like me, find it rather abstract, it has alot of 'feeling', but i rather use the word 'experiencing' to describe love.

Most interesting note to park here is that, I don't really know how to love. It was Christ who first loved me, enabled me to actually love myself and somebody else. Likeable or not so likeable people alike.

There's this term that church speakers tend to use alot. First Love. After many years, I nearly forgot that experience when God first touched my heart. I was released, relieved, refreshed, reconciled and rejoiced. Gosh, I do missed my first encounter so much. However the renewing part comes so much slower and later. How could I've identify?

It was the ability to love. With no strings attached, no gain at sight, no reward expectant.

Okies, so its easier to love material things than people. I do have a huge collection of my lovelies and most of my online friends know too well. People are just downright as imperfect as me.

but
With Love, there's also forgiveness. The release of hatred, bitterness, sorrow, and disappointments to God. Before that there's tendency to wrestle abit with Him. Cause when we allow these negative feelings to occupy our minds, we want to try to settle our emotions and feelings on our own. Maybe a sweet revenge before we try to forgive.

Old saying, many still believe it works that 'Time will heal all wounds'. I'm not absolutely sure this saying is of much remedy for wounded hearts. Our memory storage is so good in remember hurts, that even with time, we can still remember what the other person did to us 10 years back. But how we would react towards that person or a similar situation would show whether time has heal that wound in us. (putting amnesia and dementia aside)

For men, if you still angry with the other person, people will say you are being very unsporting, why not let bygones be bygones. For women, two can exchange smiles and still hide the vibe for each other undercurrent. Either way, we will have to bear with it, even if deep down we don't like it. we're just forced to for the better. Yeah for the better. Are there still wounds? Apparently neither of the party truly would wanna live in the same house with the other that have wronged them before. Yeah, let's call lawyers and divorce. Avoiding conflict is good to avoid violence and ticking off anger or simply hate the other lesser. These are probably extreme examples that are happening. The only way we humans can do, is better we don't see each other, let time flush away the angry and let's bury the hurt somewhere deep down.

Drama indeed. So, I know I can't love another person that wronged me. I can't love a criminal that killed innocents. I know I don't approve of their actions, either do God. I will want to love my enemies because Christ first loved me. I was His enemy before I accepted Him. He still loved me. That's what's Love all about.

reflection and note from my last small group session. there's always something to learn or remember back.

Is it because there's nothing exciting to talk about MYF that's why my blog was just blank up til prolly now? There's alot of things to ponder when people are forced to change and adapt a new rule or setting or routine. At first it is always harder to get into the new time slot. We naturally get excited. Once we've figured out how troublesome it is to come more than once to KL in a week, we get alil sulky over the inconvenience. Actually that's really not the problem. Or is it? So not everyone benefits from the change of system.

Would the committee be looking deeply into the matter, that not all the sheeps are happy.

my vote is yes, they ought to find out and find solutions to the matter. It's really irritating when we open one question and just because there's no absolute right answer to it, its left hanging in mid air and prefixed our minds that the best answer is 'only God knows'. Well true, only God would know what would be the best answer, but we on earth will not necessarily gather His wisdom hands at work. Im not being sarcastic. I know my life is in His hand and He's a better navigator than I am a billion times more & more. But would it really take some big catastrophy to get our attention just for God to be more audible or perhaps my ears and eyes to be removed of the wax and scale to finally see that YES, GOD IS DOING SOMETHING while I wasn't paying attention.

I think what's stinging in my heart is that Lord though we didn't pray for numbers. But I do hope that the remaining no. were consistent.

there's much more in my thoughts. so many questions.

Chap Goh Meh - 15th day of Chinese New Year.
No more angpaos til the next year. BTW, those of you who are rather shocked how serious this blog of mine is turning out. Redirect to my livejournal. Its not too hard to find if u know my username. *hint is my cobwebbing website.

I thought this year's income would had dropped by 50% but it seems like I collected almost the same amount as last year. Im slowly spending them off. Its bad when I carry my money all around wherever I go.

I would wanna start journalling my christian perspective of the dual lives Im living in. In the world but not of the world. To constantly remind myself, holiness is the step everyone must take, before expecting changes to whack hard.

Reunions - Great custom, tradition, that signifies the importance of relationship. Esp. Family relationships. Being one person that just never moved from my original spot for 20 years. I see ppl moving forward and leaving. I see ppl coming back to their roots and making effort to fit in once again. Whereas, I stay rather neutral, and not changing too much. But I see changes. Ppl not being treated like kids anymore, cousins establishing their own careers. Aunties wondering whenever they gonna have my generation to start seeding and bear fruits after hanging so long on the parent tree. Its wonderful to have a family to belong to. That's CNY for me.

Moving On - Argh, I never liked farewells. I can count and there's at least 5 ppl Im gonna miss or already missing quite a bit. And some which have dropped hints of leaving not soon, which makes it quite an aggravating waiting period. I wonder too if I will ever leave the nest. Im asking for jobs that can keep me in kl. The grass is greener somewhere beyond my nest. If Im ever gonna leave, Im sure I won't give myself time to even think, cos thinking twice will make me chicken out of it. Yeah, it might an abrupt departure, if that happens.

Questions that ran inside my head, n they have cleared,
"why leave our country?"
"why all the bother getting PR?"
"No where is actually better, compared to home"

I asked, n asked and asked. Yes, I got my answers for them.
Musn't refuse to let go of birds that have learnt how to fly and find another nest of their own.

Promoting God - Its not illegal, neither it is easy. We often like to be comfortable. If we aren't, means we don't find peace in where we are placed in. So is God the clutch that only the 'weak' hold on to? I actually agree with it after many years of finding it a contempt.
Using religion as an excuse to make oneself feel better about their weaknesses? The horror to hear such statements coming from close friends. Used to, but now I understand, how much they don't understand. The more I must not be shutting out opinions that reflects another's perspective. "God also need ppl to do sales and the pastor is promoting God in church every sunday, won't you agree?" I believe this came from a non-christian. But the statement is not entirely agreeable. How the world perceives sales & marketing is very different from how God does His branding. Spiritual food (daily bread, His word) is what God wants His ppl to be constantly feeding on. Somehow, we are just refusing to take in such food daily because of our mixed up priorities? our own personal ambitions and dreams? our own fantasies. It's really all about making ourselves happy yah? temporary happiness. God sends us loads of reminders. Ever stop being busy and observe? They don't come in dramatic forms, but direct messages from the pulpit. Yah, so what yer doing going to church every sunday mate?

Long forgotten blog.

The Lord has been faithful. He hasn't given up on my family or me. I have been very rebelious. Still am actually. More confession? Lately it had been hard to utter a prayer or sit and consult God on matters which are happening around me. A silent retreat i was forced to go along. Gave me time off to retune my sengat walk.

I forgot i had a friend who was on a mission trip. But I know the Lord was with her.
I was reluctant to continue my prayer list of items that have been there for months. But
I'm truly amazed at how things work.

My dad is slowly but still a big man with lil faith. I know he can do great things if he puts away all his fear of money. Its like chasing the wing says Solomon. Putting all life's effort into storing wealth, and never felt true joy of being blessed with riches, is a very sad thing in life. In my dad's shoe, i realise the importance of being contented with what i have and not dream of what others have that i dont.

My grandma, once i hated her, ignored her, didn't want to have anything to do with her. The Lord hit me hard on the head, and i was given a chance to see how miserable i was when i couldn't let go of all these bitterness. Forgive me, I've been judgemental and Lord work your ways in her and also my relatives around me. Grandma wants to get baptised. She doesn't know the doctrine, thought of giving her some more time to know wat she's getting into. Don't want her to feel tricked into Christianity. LIES. Excuses of the enemy. Give me the burden once more to pray. She has changed, more cheerful, talkative, hopefully she can cut down on gossiping, and less suspicious of people around her. And she can walk very well now, under alot of care. But v can't let her go back to her own house and stay alone. Her health is our concern.

My mom, thankyou for standing firm and being the pillar of this family of ours. I know you are working very hard to hold this family together. With dad and grandma and in-laws, you never neglected me and my siblings, as well as church commitment. Deep down in my heart i feel very ashamed that i've forgotten to uphold you in my prayers. Lord forgive me. In her shoes, i see that its very tiresome to be alive, to deal with people's problems and not have a life of my own. To be washed, used, misunderstood, and slaved for others. This self-sacrificial virtue, I lack alot.

I've grown very attached to my small group. I really miss sg session. I don't like the it when i have to miss 2 session because i have to go for 2 field trips. Is there another way i can make up to it? I really wanna go through the next sg session with them. Its on chrisian service. To be a leader is to be a servant. Lord, thank you for showing us a direction and also providing us avenues to work towards this goal u have set. Pls continue to do so.

I keep reminding myself bout the 7 deadly sins that at some degree I do possess.
Often my prideful self would expect to be praised for my achievement, my ego would want ppl to acknowledge that i just got older by a year. Discouragement and criticisms are like forms of curses that I really wanna just throw em back or totally shun away from.

I can still remember getting my art doodled over like its just something of no importance. I was very angry at first. Though all happened in the digital realm, still i can't forgive the act of being disrespectful towards my art. I got bitter after telling off the person who i thought "wronged me". Confidently i thought i could accept any form of critique thrown to me for my art. In the end, i succumbed to my pride. I asked for opinions, reasoned with ppl so to justify my anger was a necessary one. Misunderstanding they say. It wasnt just a mere misunderstanding, the problem was me. I guess i did give a warning that "i do not need further comments regarding this particular area". Doesn't really justify the fact that i cannot come to proper standing when i get jabbed in my weaker points. Avoiding hurt, doesn't make a person grow. Identifying and overcoming the hurt by chaging my attitude. Things will definitely look different. Humbling self, i musn't complain its hard. But to be meek, its a challenge.

What if ppl are out there to hurt you? Must i tolerate all this unwanted negatives? I must confess, if im in such a situation, i would try my very best to not be affected and seriously pray. Pray? Nonsense!! Forgive the person? IMPOSSIBLE!!! Yah, forgiveness has to come first. But reconciliation needs both parties. Hate what sinful act the person had done but not the person.

I still say its impossible. Then my friend, you're still not ready. When you're ready, you will experience greater fullness and joy in our mission on earth.

IQ test? dunno how reliable.. alot of logic questions i wasn't too fond of answering:

Congratulations, Pea!Your IQ score is 129

This number is based on a scientific formula that compares how many questions you answered correctly on the Classic IQ Test relative to others. Your Intellectual Type is Visual Mathematician. This means you are gifted at spotting patterns — both in pictures and in numbers. These talents combined with your overall high intelligence make you good at understanding the big picture, which is why people trust your instincts and turn to you for direction — especially in the workplace. And that's just some of what we know about you from your test results.

hmm they wan me to pay hmm.. to see my full report.. err..

u can find em tests here...

Day 2 (because i got pestered) of BURN 2005 : DAY 2 Photos

Actually the bed is way much better than civ's. But i have phobia of double deckers that are probably more than 10 years old. I don't like sleeping on the bottom bunk. kinda scary to see the ceiling so low. Fatigue took the best of me and got my rest.

Apa ni exercise tak maksud akal. No lar.. had fun trying to fake running around the torny grass.
I always enjoyed taking ppl's backs, cos they look most natural without noticing a camera.

2nd theme talk - yes be expecting more action and faith building sessions.
Was all prepared, just bring in on! My group clique very well when it comes to team building activities, "where is your brother"? And it turned out to be "Am i even keeping?" First station was blind mice and it wasn't hard, but frustrating to make ppl do something when they can't see. i was blind folded the year b4 n i had to pop water balloon by sitting on em. To not be able to see, is very scary. But to have that assurance of a voice guiding, things are less dark than they seem.

Next station was polar bear ice - and my feet nearly got froze bite... its was PAINFUL~!!! even for 30 seconds. Ahh relationships are even more STINGING when they don't go well. Figures, the emotional pain is hardest to heal. And without anyone beside to keep us company, i think the pain will linger even longer and eventually more hurtful than before. Then our spiritual being just freezes like ice. Doesn't mean the pain isn't there if v claim that v don't feel it. That thorn will always remain there, but most of the time v dare not (or can never) pull it out alone.

3rd station - wat's this tasting each other's saliva again?
oh dear.. another disgusting episode of "who gets the last dose". My group's sacrificial lamb, its obvious from the many snap shots. ahh.... i heard even worst.. glad it was over. I HOPE. In life v have to bear with one another, no matter the good n bad. Working with ppl would be the hardest job requirement in any task. You would think church ppl are all sweet lil old ladies, but.. they come in all shape n sizes, just like wat's in the world is in the church as well.

4th station - errr... y do v have to carry the queen again.. its war. Give ppl weapons n they will seek and destroy. The race v're gonna run (if u haven't taken up God's challenge) or running,is not a breezey stroll on a grassland filled with spring flowers. Its a path that has snares, traps, rolling boulders (if u can fancy them), lies, sadness, pains, hardship. Then as v overcome each hurdle that comes our way, God equips us, He teaches and builds us up for harder battles ahead. I remember clearly the bible exposition on James. Trials come and they are there to train our patience, our endurance, n strenghten our faith in God. Temptations are things that v ask for ourselves, unless v tear away these desires that are not of God, v are never free.

I'll just touch on theme talks cos i remember them more clearly than other stuffs.
The 2 workshops were inspiringly fun and exhausting. First v had to crack our brains, then our eggs, then strain our selfs for water balloon fight. Who gave out that idea that MYFers are most durable and can witstand any conditions?!! The non-stop action pack saturday was not even near the end. There comes another round of games. And i got most irritated by David! 3 months of no seeing his face, he haunts me when im quacking like a duck. Simon is less cruel than last year. I should be thankful.

Day 1,

Bus ride was smooth sailing and i guess i was pretty anxious to get to pd methodist center. Needed to facilitate the washroom.

do help urselves with :
selected day 1 photos
ps. threw out alot of spoilt but should have been fond snapshots.

There were 50 campers, 2 counsellors, 2 facilitators.
Speaker, Annette A. Arulrajah. boy, I didn't expect to have such an impacting theme talk 'workout' conducted by her. Afterthoughts from the first theme talk: Before we can start anything, we sure have to know ourselves first and foremost. What I hold on most dearly in the world will destroy the flame that i once set on fire. I do pray that serving is not showing (off), but an act of worship. In the midst of my busyness, i've forgotten the purpose of doing many church stuffs. And slowly the commitments turn tiresome, bothersome, a ritual-some, something I have to do and not want to do. God doesn't need to see my credentials, i don't need to prove how much im worth. Because my worth is in God.

to be cont.

MYF CAMP 2005 - B.U.R.N. - duration = 48 hours
====================================
Pre-camp week was all bout frustrations, doubts, numbness, tiredness, a weary dried out flesh and bone. Where's my soul? Where's my heart? Y are they ineffective and not functioning? My heart wasn't expecting anything and my soul was crying, I wasn't too sure. I was yes numbed.

I wasn't in any mood to go for camp. But at the final hour a funny feeling came to me.I had to be in uni at 8am and catch the bus in church (KL) by 12 noon. My lab ends at 12 noon. Logic tells me i have to skip part of lab to get prepared for camp. RELUCTANCY. My bro was firm n v left uni by 10.30am. n headed home. At 10.30am, I smiled back at my friends who told me to have fun. I knew I was excited about camp when I left the lab. I was finally able to put aside all things that had been stopping me from going to camp where my soul longs.

Meet the campers, n me was holding camera. this was the group shot near to the end of the camp.

click here for slightly larger version

I'll post as much photos as I can. Postcampsyndrome is heavy but the memories won't fade. I shall try my best to put em here. Every camp to me was different, this one was special.

Let's see.. i've been goin out every other day the past 4 days, I'm officially bankrupt. Yah, n i kinda promised or suggested to go watch spiderman with another friend. Where do i go find the money now. arrr.

Was with Geeg, in, ck, kat, eva, eva's friend, ???(tak ingat, paiseh) at redbox.
umm.. ok larr... just abit cramp n all.
then.. watched ppl try smashing 10 pins off their base. ^^;; I don't dunno how to bowl rite. No kidding really.
Headed to Teapot cafe. Rite now i was really tired. Shrugs. nibble abit here n there.. Was really fun to see em after a long while. It really is different to chat offline. Ahahha.. i guess the weird stunts, gestures, noise and expressions really spurrs em moments together. totally different from typing n starring at an electron gun.

ppl still needa take some time off to just spend with each other. wait i don't like this phrase. Rephrase, ppl must take time off to meet on another to build quality friendship. (i don't like this wan either. ah who cares.)

prepares to face stupid results, which i know are gonna be BAD. cos i did bad. n i know it.

n my time table sucks big time. How am i gonna alter em. Shit.. i'm having different labs n tutorials with my pal. ARRRR. bloody system.

fiddles with bloggers features.. everything looks wider.

Breakaway day 2. (will make it short n sweet, since i can't recall much)

Morning with Caryn. Ini sequel to Morning with David from last camp.
Yas.. morning exercise + music~!!!! Just get us all up.
But v had starters = group devotion. Something like small group. Where v sit n share.. i love this session. Great way to start the day. Our group have campers ages 14 to.. 2? kekekek.. n after last nite's mad hide and chase, v really bonded during supper.. relieved no wat was seriously hurt..but v had fun.

Since it was Sunday. Our speaker was still not available until later in the evening. So v had ter-registered into Bengkel Susan sdn. bhd. March v 2 by 2 into the workshop to find.. very interesting stalls around us. I dun wanna spoil the fun for those that haven't tried this activity. Cos its.. really suppose to be a SURPRISE. Objective of the game is to be the most successful person.. But choosing to equip ourselves with watever skills there are. I chose Greatness. So i had to get ppl to say i was Cute, answer general quizes, draw something for another to guess and run/walkf around the stadium twice.. (just keep in mind the stadium has 1 basketball court, 4 badminton courts, area for pingpong tables... ) I hope i didn't miscount. There was a time limit to the game. I got my very first Master/phd in Greatness.. n roamed around to help others.. umm.. there was Money, laughter, .. n others.. i weren't too aware..

at the end of the game.. the winners were suppose to have marshmallow choco moose from secret recipe..... UUUUwaaahh... welll only 7 ppl made it to that special table while the rest of us were stunned. U ask my wat happened.. Shhhhhh.... sore wa himitsu desu.

this very workshop really slapped me hard on the cheek.. n made me realise.. alot of things. Wat izzit to be successful? Come to MYF ^.-

Later in the evening.. i think v had something..i forgot...had forum.. missed it..cos i had to prepare for games

OH v had MYF super Sunday.. long tedious torturing.... team building game, gamemaster = Simone Ho (wanted person)
so there were all together.. 5 obstacles. Blind man's trail (wm), human tower (kho), crossing the string thingy (ml?), 7 legs, 7 knees, 2 hands watever it was.. i know.. it was the toughest (eho) then finally my station was to build the highest tower with ONLY straws. All teams did each challenge within 12 minutes. So.. it was really bout speed.. n height n most important team work. BOY. was everyone worn out.

n v had another.. game.. waterballoon fight.. war game? i got captured.. n my pants were all wet.. sigh sigh sigh.... after all these.. v had to clean up.. (committee) so.. was too tired to jump into the pool.. instead..i was in dire need for a hot shower n TIDO.. got my hot bath but no time to sleep.. it was oredi dinner time when i was done.. Noooo..
forget bout beeps.. they were oredi off my mind.

Yes.. finally a themetalk.. Aiyar..I need my pda back.. kho is still taking our pdas hostage. TT;;;;; my notes were inside. Learnt to be a compass not a clock. ok.. so v rested.. did i rest? i think i did.. i hoped.. cos.. there was one night which i was chatting with eho.. unti 3 am.. n wm smsed us with smelly news.. hmm.. guys dorm dillema.

nitez~~

end of day 2.
